8 Ways to Get Rid of Acne

Ugh, acne is the worst, right? I’ve had it forever too. You know what’s crazy? It always seems to get worse like a week or two before my period.

My face looks so bad and ugly during that time. I used to just let it be and even picked at the scars, which messed up my skin pretty badly.

But hey, I’ve found some awesome skincare routines that work wonders for me! Wanna hear about them?

Fresh Fruits and Vegetables

You know, having a diet full of fresh fruits and veggies really helps. Ever since I started eating mostly vegetables, my skin cleared up so much. It’s best to eat fruits in the morning.

If you’re not a fan of how veggies taste, you could try some traditional acne treatments, but I really want you to see how tasty vegetables can be. You can even make smoothies and sweet fresh juices with fruits and vegetables! Toss in an apple or a few berries and you’ll be an instant fan.

Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc

You know, I’ve been taking this for PMS, but guess what? My acne flare ups have decreased a ton since I started taking it regularly! Like seriously, when I was on vacation in Australia and didn’t take it for a while, my acne got worse.

So yeah, I’m pretty sure this stuff helps. Oh, and get this – I read that zinc is an amazing remedy for acne too! Crazy, right?

Green Tea is Sooo Good for You

This is the actual brand of tea I drink, but I take decaf because I always have trouble sleeping. If that’s not a problem for you, just stick with regular green tea.

You know how everyone talks about all those awesome benefits of green tea, right? Like loads of antioxidants that help cleanse your system and flush out toxins. Plus, you can even put it on your face!

Cut WAY Down on Traditional Milk

Milk does have its perks, but it’s not really the best for acne, you know? You probably noticed that when you were drinking milk daily, your acne got worse.

Good news is, after stopping, it chilled out again. So now you’re rockin’ rice milk instead and treating yourself to some yogurt every now and then. Nice move!

Drink More Water!

Yeah, you know the drill – drink around 8 cups a day! But don’t worry if you can’t reach that goal; just drinking more water in the morning is already making you feel refreshed and fantastic.

If plain water isn’t your thing, try tossing in some frozen fruit for a natural flavor boost! You can even freeze fruit right into ice cubes for an extra cool twist!

Cut Out the Junk Food

Although it may be challenging, avoiding junk food can have a significant impact on your health. In the past, I’d inhale a packet of cookies and a candy (chocolate) bar for lunch, or maybe get a sandwich piled with oily mystery meats and fries.

Of course, my face suffered from swelling and redness caused by painful pimples that took weeks to disappear. However, eliminating junk food from my diet has greatly improved my skin’s appearance and eliminated the pain.

Face Wash

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Dermatological 3 Step Acne Treatment System, Salicylic Acid Acne Cleanser, Pore Refining Toner, and Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Spot Treatment for Sensitive Skin, 2-Month Supply

I always wash my face at least once a day, though I recommend doing it twice! One of my favourites to use is the Effaclar 3-step set from La Roche-Posay. It just makes my skin feel so smooth and amazing. I think La Roche-Posay is a brilliant brand for acne skin products,

I also think the tea tree acne products work very well. The best thing to do is find one that really works for you and stick to a daily face washing regime.

Also, it really benefits your skin to apply a mask once every few days. Try the DIY Green tea and Oatmeal mask.
